This privacy statement explains how GPI collect, use, share and protect the personal information of those who visit our site, register and participate in our courses and communications.

1) Scope

Applies to: website, registration forms, payment platforms, LMS, video conferencing (e.g., Google Meet), email marketing, and support. Does not cover third-party services that operate with their own policies.

2) What data we collect

• Identifiers: first name, last name, country/state, email, phone number.
• Transactional data: courses purchased, amounts paid, date/time, payment status (we do not store the full card number).
• Course data: attendance, activity, tasks, chat messages, grades (if applicable), surveys.
• Support: communications with email@gaviotainstitute.com.
• Technical/use: IP, browser type, device, pages visited, cookies and similar technologies.
• Recordings: audio/video/live chat sessions (see Terms).
• Marketing: subscription preferences, email openings and clicks.

3) Basis and purposes of the treatment

We use your data to:

• Provision of the service: process payments, give you access, manage enrollment and support.
• Communications: send you instructions, operational notices and reminders.
• Improvement and security: operational analysis, fraud prevention, audits.
• Legal compliance: accounting, tax and regulatory obligations in FL and PR.
• Own marketing: newsletters, launches and offers related to our institute. We do not sell your information to third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time.

4) Email & SMS (Marketing)

• Promotional emails in accordance with CAN-SPAMYou can unsubscribe with the link in each email or by writing to email@gaviotainstitute.com.
• If we used SMS, we would comply TCPA: Clear opt-in, “STOP” to exit, “HELP” for help. Carrier charges may apply.

5) Cookies and analytics

We may use our own and third-party cookies (e.g., Google Analytics) for statistics and site improvement.

6) Disclosure to third parties (processors/managers)

We share data only with providers who need to process them to provide the service to GPI, under confidentiality and security contracts:

• Payment gateways (p. ej., WooPayments/Stripe).
• LMS platforms and video conferencing (e.g., TutorLMS, Google Meet).
• Email marketing and messaging (e.g., MailPoet/Brevo or others).
• Hosting and IT support.
• Analytics and security.

7) Data transfers and location

We process and store data primarily in United StatesIf you access this information from Puerto Rico or other jurisdictions, you agree to the transfer in accordance with applicable laws.

8) Retention

We retain data for as long as necessary for the purposes described and for additional periods required by law (e.g., tax obligations). we eliminate or we anonymize safely.

9) Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your data. However, none This method is 100% foolproof. We recommend good practices (strong passwords, updated devices).

10) Security incidents and notifications

In the event of an incident involving personal data, we will notify in accordance with applicable law, including Florida Information Protection Act (FIPA) and the regulations of Puerto Rico on notification of security breaches, within the legally required timeframes.

Note: Some data cannot be deleted if there is a legal obligation to retain them (e.g. billing).

12) Minors

Our services They are not intended for children under 13 years of age.. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we detect it, we will delete it. For 13–17, it is required consent of the legal guardian.

13) Recordings and privacy in class

Sessions may be recorded. We will treat the content confidentially for educational, quality, and support purposes. If we wish to use excerpts for promotional purposes, we will request your additional authorization.

Our site may link to third parties. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies before providing data.

15) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. We will post the current version with the updated date. Continued use implies acceptance.
